Lynne Marie Becker, B.S.E.E., M.A. Mathematics

Ms. Becker graduated Cum Laude from Christian Brothers University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. She put her engineering education to work with Procter & Gamble for two years in manufacturing engineering, then returned to her Alma Mater for the next three years as the founding Director of the University's Mathematics Center. She subsequently continued her education, graduating with Distinction from Saint Louis University with an M.A. in Mathematics. During the next seven years, Ms. Becker applied her knowledge of mathematics, engineering, and business management to the task of performance measurement with a major corporation and in her work as a consultant for several municipalities in the Memphis, Tennessee area, winning local and state awards for her work. Ms. Becker founded and managed her own tutoring company for several years before joining the BestQuest team, where she has taken on a variety of roles in production, research, and sales.
Her experience includes more than five years of teaching at the high school and college levels and more than ten years of private tutoring for middle school, high school, and college students, in addition to thousands of hours spent working with students in one-to-one settings. Her article, "Math Anxiety Bills of Responsibilities" appeared in The Teaching Professor, January 1994. It has been published in numerous other places as well, including the book Defeating Math Anxiety by Anita Kitchens. Ms. Becker is a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) and is a Certified Toastmaster (CTM).
